POSTPONED: Workshop: Why Failure is Essential for Student Learning

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FALL 2020

Students are frequently asked to achieve, on their first attempts, stellar results on high-stakes, high-pressure assessments. New research shows that this strategy does not work well because it is not how human beings naturally learn. Students need to make mistakes before we can get the right answers. In this workshop, participants will explore the research findings and work together to identify “opportunities for failure” in courses so that students can maximize their learning.
