Workshop: Metacognition: Helping Students Navigate the Landscape of Learning
A key factor in the ability of students to succeed in our classes is their ability to plan, monitor, evaluate, and adjust their approach to learning in their classes. When students do this successfully, they quite simply learn more than they would otherwise learn. Fortunately, there are a variety of ways in which educator can prompt and prime students to engage in this sort of metacognitive behavior in classes. Join this workshop to hear more about the role of metacognition in learning and practical ways that educators can enhance their approach to teaching in response.
