DESCRIPTION:The Institute for Women’s and Gender Studies at the Universit
 y of Georgia continues its longstanding annual tradition of hosting specia
 l events throughout March to recognize Women’s History Month. These even
 ts provide opportunities for the University of Georgia campus and broader 
 community to access the diverse perspectives\, rich history\, and cultural
  impact of women. \n\nThe 2025 Women’s History Month theme\, as determin
 ed by the National Women’s History Alliance\, is “Moving Forward Toget
 her! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations.” This theme celebrates the
  powerful influence of women who have dedicated their lives to education\,
  mentorship\, and leadership.\n\nFor the Women’s History Month Keynote A
 ddress\, the institute is delighted to welcome changemaker\, educator\, wr
 iter\, and president of the James and Grace Lee Boggs Foundation\, Dr. Sco
 tt Kurashige. Dr. Kurashige’s experience as an urban community organizer
  in cities like LA and Detroit\, his work on the enduring problem of anti-
 Asian and anti-Black violence in the US\, and in particular his ongoing wo
 rk with the James and Grace Lee Boggs foundation make Dr. Kurashige the pe
 rfect exemplar for this year’s theme. Dr. Kurashige’s keynote address 
 will center on his work with Grace Lee Boggs during her lifetime and exten
 ding her teachings and legacy for future generations. Find out more about
