In this class, students will learn the basics of identifying trees in the winter by learning about twigs, bark, leaf scars, fruits and tree form. Students will learn to use a hand lens and a simple key for woody plants to identify species. Class time will be divided between classroom exercises and a field trip to the deciduous woods at the Botanical Garden.
