Join Diane DeMell Jacobsen, Ph.D., for a special Zoom lecture presented in conjunction with the exhibition “The Art of Seating: 200 Years of American Design.”
Dr. Jacobsen is a distinguished scholar, art collector and chair of the Thomas H. and Diane DeMell Jacobsen Ph.D. Foundation. Selections from her major collection of American chairs make up the exhibition on view at the museum.
This lively talk will look at examples of exceptional American chair design from the early 19th century to the present day, including pieces by John Henry Belter, George Hunzinger, Herter Brothers, Stickley Brothers, Frank Lloyd Wright, Charles and Ray Eames, Isamu Noguchi and Frank Gehry among others.
