UGA Startup 101 Series

UGA Innovation District's "Startup 101" is a three-part series that addresses the varying skills and information entrepreneurs will need on their journey to create a startup company. Anyone interested in launching or growing a startup, or gaining insight into the startup process, is encouraged to attend.

The Startup 101 program on Jan. 17 will explore project management and science communication. Brad Range, engineering lead in Acorn Product Development's Southeastern design center, will present on project management for research and development (R&D), and how R&D differs in academic and industry settings.

Brad's presentation will be followed by a talk featuring Leonor Sierra, an expert in science communication and education. Leonor will discuss strategies for scientists to effectively communicate their research to non-scientists and the media.

The event is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided to those who register.

Paid parking is available in the North Campus Parking Deck. The Jackson Street Building is also accessible through the UGA bus lines.
