UGA's Online Drum Major & Leadership Academy is an intensive four-day online experience designed to help young marching band performers expand their skillsets. Experts provide the personal level of attention required to help participants master their conducting and leadership specialty as drum majors and leaders of the band.

Drum Major 

Develop and refine conducting and leadership skills under former and current drum majors of UGA's acclaimed Redcoat Band. Learn to be an effective communicator both musically and through band leadership.

All students will have two daily leadership classes (9:00 - 10:30 AM and 5:00 - 6:30 PM)

Each school represented will have two 30-minute group conducting lessons with instructors during the afternoon hours of 1-5 p.m. This is time to focus on conducting technique and discuss more detailed drum major specific leadership topics.

Leadership

Learn to be an effective leader in a band program with instruction by  former and current drum majors of UGA's acclaimed Redcoat Band. 

All students will have two daily leadership classes (9-10:30 a.m. and 5-6:30 p.m.)

Each school represented will have one 30-minute group leadership session with instructors during the afternoon hours of 1-5 p.m. This is time to focus on specific leadership skills and goals for the band program.
