UGA Inventor’s Guide to Technology Transfer

Did you know that nearly 700 products and 170 companies have emerged from UGA research? At this event, learn about translating research discoveries into new products and startup companies that drive economic growth.

Innovation Gateway's Technology Transfer Educational Series, "Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry," is a four-part series that highlights how Innovation Gateway collaborates with UGA researchers to maximize the impact of their discoveries by partnering with industry or helping to launch startup companies to move researchers’ discoveries from the lab or field to the marketplace.

At the first of four events, “Inventor’s Guide to Technology Transfer,” Innovation Gateway staff will briefly review and discuss the invention disclosure, technology transfer and entrepreneurial processes at UGA.

The second event in the series will be held Nov. 7 from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. in room 201 of the Pharmacy South Building and will feature Michael Fisher, director of product development at the Global Center for Medical Innovation (GCMI), who will present a case study on the transition of technology from discovery to product.

The event is open to UGA faculty, staff and students and will include light refreshments. Registration is encouraged. RSVP to Tyler Duggins at tduggins@uga.edu or 706-542-8969.
