DESCRIPTION:The scheduled fall UGA Alert test for the Athens campus will in
 clude a full activation of the UGA Alert emergency notification system. Pe
 riodic tests of the system are necessary to evaluate the University’s ab
 ility to issue timely emergency messages when immediate action is required
 .\n\nThe Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) encourages all students\, 
 faculty\, staff\, and visitors to acknowledge the notifications when activ
 ated. If possible\, people are encouraged to physically execute building e
 vacuation plans. At minimum\, take a moment to consider your actions durin
 g an actual evacuation. Know at least two exits in buildings you frequent.
  If you have mobility limitations\, communicate your needs or contact our 
 office for personalized emergency planning. More details are available on 
 our website.\n\nPrior to the event\, it is important that students\, facul
 ty\, and staff review their contact information at www.ugaalert.uga.edu to
  ensure their phone number\, email address\, and notification preferences 
 are accurate. Employees automatically receive UGA Alert email messages but
  must log into the system to ensure their text number is enrolled.
