About this Event
The scheduled fall UGA Alert test for the Athens campus will include a full activation of the UGA Alert emergency notification system. Periodic tests of the system are necessary to evaluate the University’s ability to issue timely emergency messages when immediate action is required.
The Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) encourages all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to acknowledge the notifications when activated. If possible, people are encouraged to physically execute building evacuation plans. At minimum, take a moment to consider your actions during an actual evacuation. Know at least two exits in buildings you frequent. If you have mobility limitations, communicate your needs or contact our office for personalized emergency planning. More details are available on our website.
Prior to the event, it is important that students, faculty, and staff review their contact information at www.ugaalert.uga.edu to ensure their phone number, email address, and notification preferences are accurate. Employees automatically receive UGA Alert email messages but must log into the system to ensure their text number is enrolled.
