Film screening of the documentary The Throwaways, the story of homeless filmmaker, ex-felon & activist Ira McKinley documenting his struggle for community change for people living in the margins. The screening will be followed by a discussion about how trauma-informed community spaces can transform lives. The discussion will be led by fimmaker Ira McKinley and social work graduate students who are part of the ACC Library's Trauma-Informed Library Transformation (TILT) project. This event is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by the UGA School of Social Work and the Athens Regional Library System through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
