DESCRIPTION:London-based gospel ensemble The Kingdom Choir has canceled its
  upcoming U.S. tour because of the visa backlog at embassies caused by COV
 ID-19. The group's performance on Nov. 28 at the UGA Performing Arts Cente
 r was the second rescheduling of their Athens appearance due to the pandem
 ic. \n\n"We have been looking forward to seeing The Kingdom Choir on the H
 odgson Concert Hall stage since we first announced their impending arrival
  in 2019\," said UGA Performing Arts Center Director Jeffrey Martin. "Unfo
 rtunately\, current conditions have made their tour impossible\, and they 
 will not be able to come to Athens as anticipated. We hope to present them
  here in a future season\, although we don’t currently have plans in pla
 ce at this time." \n\nPatrons with Kingdom Choir tickets may exchange them
  for another UGA Presents performance\, request a full refund\, or donate 
 the cost of their tickets to the Performing Arts Center. Please call the b

  choir’s show-stopping performance of “Stand by Me” at the royal wed
 ding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was seen by more than two billion p
 eople worldwide and shot straight to the top of the Billboard charts.\n\nU
 nder the direction of powerhouse conductor Karen Gibson\, the ensemble dra
 ws upon Christian gospel and popular music traditions to create a warm\, e
 nthusiastic sound that will capture the hearts of people everywhere.\n\nTh
 e ensemble will perform a holiday program including soulful renditions of 
 traditional gospel classics and popular contemporary music with the choir
 ’s own inspirational versions of holiday favorites.
