This annual lectureship features an internationally-renown expert in the fields of pharmaceutical sciences, drug discovery, and medicinal therapeutics. This year's event will host Anabella P. Villalobos, Ph.D., a world-class drug discoverer, a proven leader in medicinal sciences, and a champion of scientific innovation. Her experience in neuroscience and passion for drug discovery is helping to create and advance the next generation of breakthrough medicines, including her design of Icopezil, a drug that advanced to a Phase Two clinical trial, eventually leading to the creation of Aricept, the front-line treatment for Alzheimer's Disease. Dr. Villalobos is a 2023 inductee into the American Chemical Society Medicinal Chemistry Hall of Fame. Currently, she is the senior vice president and head of Biotherapeutics and Medicinal Sciences (BTMS) at Biogen in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
