About this Event
2450 S Milledge Avenue, Athens, GA 30605
https://botgarden.uga.edu/event/summer-tree-identification/About 200 tree species occur in Georgia’s Piedmont forests and woodlands. In this class, students learn to identify some of the most common of these by their leaves, bark, branching patterns and tree form. Students will learn to use a hand lens and a simple dichotomous key for woody plants to identify species. Class time will be divided between classroom exercises and a field trip to the woods at the State Botanical Garden.
This class is an elective for the Certificate in Native Plants.
