Special Gallery Program: “Exercises for the Quiet Eye: Easy Looking Activities in Celebration of Slow Art Day”

The special gallery program for Slow Art Day will be “Exercises for the Quiet Eye: Easy Looking Activities in Celebration of Slow Art Day.” Drawing on more than 40 years of experience exploring the intersection of art history and lifelong education, Annie V.F. Storr has developed about 50 exercises for looking at works of art that encourage reflection, connection and a “tolerance of ambiguity” when encountering art. In these moments works of art can engage us in rich, complex, rewarding and inconclusive ways.
