Spacing Out: Art and Topology Pop-up Museum features student works inspired by and demonstrating concepts from the mathematical field of topology. The exhibition includes fabric arts, ceramics, laser-cut wooden sculpture, 3D animations, and more. Spacing Out was organized by mathematics doctoral students Alexander Tepper and Han Lou and Professor of Mathematics David Gay, with assistance from Lamar Dodd School of Art students and alumni as part of an ongoing effort to advance visualizations of intriguing geometric phenomena.

Gay will continue to cultivate art-meets-math activations with the Lamar Dodd School of Art in partnership with Associate Professor of Graphic Design Moon Jang and the UGA Arts Collaborative through a recently awarded 5-year National Science Foundation grant. For more information, contact David Gay at dgay@uga.edu.
