River Basin Center 3rd Wednesday Symposium: Christian Hunt and Alice Miller Keyes

Christian Hunt, Southeast Representative for Defenders of Wildlife, and Alice Keyes, VP of Coastal Conservation for 100 Miles, will examine the struggle over titanium mining operations proposed to occur near the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, the largest refuge east of the Mississippi and a Wetland of International Importance. The talk will specifically discuss the policy implications of the proposed mining operations; wildlife, economic, and recreational considerations; and the history of attempted mining near the refuge.

The presentation will be open to the public and will take place virtually over Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent out to our mailing list two hours prior to the talk.
