The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) will be hosting their 20th Annual Health Fair - Pharmtoberfest - in honor of American Pharmacists Month.
This event will include screenings for high blood pressure, high blood sugar, bone marrow donors, HIV, and Hepatitis C. In addition, booths from student health groups across campus will provide information on breast cancer awareness, diabetes, high blood pressure, immunizations, sexually transmitted diseases, alcohol education, over-the-counter medication safety, safe drug disposal, and more. Flu shots will be available through the University Health Center. Interested participants should bring their insurance card. Unfortunately, they are unable to accept Kaiser health plans. The price if uninsured or out of network is $50. The college will also be holding its annual pumpkin painting contest. This event is open to all UGA faculty, staff, and students, as well as the local community.
