Abstract: The Black dollar is one that has held varying levels of power in our country. Today the Black community has been intentionally growing its power in the economy, but how do we enact this power? This lecture will touch upon the success and destruction of Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma to today’s black spending power in the United States in the country’s economy and how it can be used to create change. There will also be suggestions of black companies and businesses that can be supported to positively impact the African American community.
