About this Event
Participants will raise their awareness about cross-cultural mentoring and learn techniques to bridge differences as they build strong mentor/mentee relationships. This session draws from training offered via the workshop “My Voice, My Story” developed by Cornell University Graduate School. The primary objectives of “My Voice, My Story” are to utilize the power of narrative to achieve greater understanding of the lived experiences of mentees, shared stories that frequently go untold, and develop strategies on how to create more inclusive and supportive research and learning environments. This session is a partnership of the Graduate School, Graduate Mentoring Academy, and the Office of Faculty Affairs.
Facilitators: Shu-mei Chang, Professor of Plant Biology & Janette Hill, Professor of Learning, Design, & Technology
