About this Event
This workshop is being held as part of the New Department Head Training, but all leaders are welcome.
Participants will raise awareness and learn techniques to bridge differences and build strong mentor/mentee relationships. This session offers faculty development regarding mentoring across differences and draws from training offered via the workshop “My Voice, My Story” developed by Cornell University Graduate School. The primary objectives of “My Voice, My Story” are to utilize the power of narrative to achieve greater understanding of the lived experiences of mentees, shared stories that frequently go untold, and develop strategies on how to create more inclusive and supportive research and learning environments. This session is a partnership of the Graduate School, Graduate Mentoring Academy, and the Office of Faculty Affairs.
Facilitators: Shu-mei Chang and Janette Hill.
