Join us for an MBUS TALK with award-winning music business professionals:

Kennard Garrett is an award-winning, Emmy Award-nominated, multi-genre record producer, composer, and arranger. He has produced and received musician/arranger credits on numerous chart-topping songs for various artists, including the Pussycat Dolls, Jesse McCartney, Korean pop star BoA, multi-platinum R&B singer Case, megahit rapper J. Cole, GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Drake, and Afrobeats/R&B singer Rotimi. Garrett co-wrote and produced “Don’t Make Me Wait,” the lead single on the collaborative album 44/876 by international superstars Sting and Shaggy, which won the GRAMMY® Award for Best Reggae Album in 2019.

The album spent 19 weeks at #1 on the US Billboard Reggae Charts.

In February 2023, Garrett co-founded PACE Recordings alongside multi-platinum, award-winning producer Justin “Henny” Henderson. The music startup leverages the duo’s combined 40 years of music industry experience to develop emerging talent while embracing cutting-edge technology—bringing a fresh balance to the evolving music landscape. Garrett served as a National Trustee for the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (The Recording Academy), where he previously acted as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Ambassador for the Atlanta Chapter. He is an active member of both the Producers & Engineers Wing and the Songwriters & Composers Wing. Garrett recently joined the board of the Save the Music Foundation. A graduate of Morehouse College (Applied Physics) and Georgia Tech (Mechanical Engineering), Garrett gives back to his alma mater as an adjunct professor at Morehouse College and serves as the Director of the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center. With a passion for bridging music, education, and technology, Kennard Garrett continues to shape the future of sound across industries and generations.

Justin “HENNY” Henderson is a Grammy Award–winning, multi-platinum record producer, songwriter, educator, and tech influencer whose work has shaped the sound of modern music for more than 25 years. With a career spanning across hip-hop, R&B, and pop, Henny has crafted chart-topping records for some of the world’s most iconic artists, including Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, Drake, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, JAY-Z, Brandy, and the Black Eyed Peas, among many others.

A proud graduate of Morehouse College, Henny returned to his alma mater as the school’s first Producer-in-Residence and now serves as an adjunct professor, mentoring the next generation of creators through innovative music and technology programs. Beyond the classroom, he has built a global online presence through his YouTube channel, where he educates and inspires producers and creatives on harnessing the full potential of iOS devices in professional music production.

His forward-thinking approach has earned him partnerships as a brand ambassador with leading companies such as Apple, Apogee, Shure, LumaTouch, IK Multimedia, RØDE, and Teenage Engineering, as well as collaborations with Native Instruments. Henny also serves as a Trustee of the Atlanta Chapter of The Recording Academy, where he advocates for artists, producers, and the broader creative community.

In 2025, Henny released his debut instrumental album, Temp N Tha Hunnids, through PACE Recordings, a music and tech venture he co-founded with fellow producer Kennard Garrett. The project embodies his vision of blending soulful musicianship with cutting-edge production, while continuing his mission to push the boundaries of sound, technology, and culture.
