"Were the Brazilian Police Always Violent?," Cassia Roth, assistant professor in history and the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute.

Roth teaches courses on the history of Brazil, slavery, and gender. She is finishing a book titled "A Miscarriage of Justice: Reproduction, Medicine, and the Law in Early Twentieth-Century Brazil."
