Lake will discuss the assumption of anarchy in International Relations and a new research agenda on hierarchy between countries — and what this means for relations, conflict, and global governance. A pre-talk reception begins at 5 p.m. with his lecture beginning at 6 p.m.
Lake is Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the University of California, San Diego. Lake is a former president of both the American Political Science Association and the International Studies Association. He is a past editor of International Organization and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He’s widely regarded as a major contributor to current International Relations scholarship. Dr. Lake will discuss the assumption of anarchy in International Relations and a new research agenda on hierarchy between countries — and what this means for relations, conflict, and global governance.
