Lab Coat Pick-up for UGA Chemistry Upcycling 

UGA Chemistry Upcycling is a sustainability initiative that focuses on reducing waste and making college courses more affordable for students. This project is funded by the Office of Sustainability's 2023 Campus Sustainability Grant. 

Through this initiative, students in need of a lab coat for their STEM courses can receive one at no cost. Students will have to make a $25 security deposit to receive the coat, and 100% of the money will be returned when the students return the lab coat at the end of the year. This initiative reduces the need to purchase new materials, as well as reduces the number of items that are thrown away at the end of each year. This can help limit the number of carbon emissions produced while ensuring that student needs are met.
