Music producer Jacknife Lee is the inaugural Willson Center / Terry College Music Business Program Visiting Fellow. He will take part in classes and a recording studio session with students, have a public conversation with MBUS Director David Barbe, and perform a DJ set at the 40 Watt Club in downtown Athens with Wanderwild, DJ Immuzikation & Twin Powers, and Cooper Casale.Both the conversation at the Chapel and the performance at the 40 Watt are free and open to the public.Lee is one of the most influential and sought-after producers currently at work. He has workedas a writer and producer with some of the most popular and highly acclaimed artists on both sides of the Atlantic, including Taylor Swift, U2, R.E.M., Kasabian, Robbie Williams and Neil Diamond. His work on U2’s How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb earned him two Grammy Awards in 2006 as well as Producer of the Year at the UK MMF Awards. He was again nominated for a Grammy in 2013 for his work on Swift’s multi-million selling album Red. Lee was the producer of R.E.M.’s final two studio albums, Accelerate (2008)and Collapse Into Now (2011).In 2016 Lee has already produced and co-written two massive radio singles with the Scottish alt-rock band Twin Atlantic‘s “No Sleep” and Two Door Cinema Club‘s “Are We Ready (Wreck)” Lee has also co-written and produced on both bands’ upcoming albums.
