About this Event
255 Baldwin Street, Athens, GA 30602
This year’s Ethics & Cinema event confronts climate change. Extreme weather presents new threats to every corner of the earth, while politics and economics continue to pose many challenges for environmental activism.
There will be a free screening of I Am Greta (2020), the documentary on the teenage Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, followed by a roundtable discussion. Panelists include Prof. John Knox (Geography), Prof. Jeff Springston (Grady), Prof. Piers Stephens (Philosophy), Allison Krausman (Environmental Ethics), and Dean Anna Stenport (Franklin College).
This panel, organized by Aaron Meskin and Olivia Moskot (Philosophy) and Richard Neupert (Film), is part of the UGA Annual Ethics Awareness Week, sponsored by the Internal Auditing Division, the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts, the Department of Philosophy, and the Film Studies program. For more information, please write Olivia Moskot at Olivia.Moskot@uga.edu.
