A diversity statement (articulating experiences and goals related to diversity, inclusion and equity) has become a required part of the application process for many faculty positions. In this workshop, participants will learn how to leverage their teaching experiences for use in their diversity statement. First, instructors will dive into the fundamentals of what a diversity statement is and is not. Next, participants will refine their views of diversity and inclusion and what this looks like in teaching. Finally, learn to integrate these views with experiences both in and outside the classroom to craft a statement for the job market.
