Effective teaching and learning relies on more than just the mechanisms of memory. For example, students' metacognitive behaviors (don't worry, instructors will define that!) can have a significant impact on whether and how much they learn. What instructors do can impact their metacognitive skills, thereby impacting their success as learners. This workshop will focus on theories of metacognition in relation to learning (and how they can inform an instructor's work with students).

This workshop is open to all UGA graduate students and postdocs and aligns with Module 1.2 in the GradTeach Certificate program. #Metacognition
