GradTeach Workshop: Current and Emerging Legal Issues in Teaching
This workshop will assist graduate teaching assistants in identifying current and emerging legal issues in teaching and in developing and communicating appropriate responses to legal issues that arise in the higher education setting. Issues that will be covered include knowledge of policies, procedures, and legal concepts that a graduate teaching assistant will need to be aware of in the context of teaching. Some of the content will be taught with a Power Point presentation and will use hypotheticals and open discussion to cover scenarios that arise in the university setting. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers with guest presenter Elizabeth Bailey, Senior Associate General Counsel, Office of Legal Affairs.
