Transparency in Learning and Teaching—aka TILT—is a framework that we can use to communicate assignment expectations. By clearly explaining the goal, purpose, and steps for completing an assignment to students, instructors allow them to focus their energy on the assignment itself instead of trying to figure out what exactly faculty members want. In this workshop, instructors will discuss the benefits of the TILT framework and identify how to “TILT” an assignment prompt in our individual contexts.
