Complexity isn’t something to conquer—it’s something to come into relationship with.

In this 90-minute experiential session, we invite you into the lived experience of being human in complex times—not through cognitive mastery, but through embodied presence and reflective inquiry. Guided by Valerie Livesay’s Fallback Theory and the metaphor of theatre, we’ll explore how development isn’t just a path of forward motion, but one that includes moments of fallback—when, under pressure, we revert to older, simpler ways of making sense of ourselves and the world.

You’ll be invited to reflect on a scene in your life where complexity triggered you to constrict, to narrow, to lose access to your fuller, more grounded self. From here, we’ll begin to explore how those moments might be less about failure—and more about invitation. This is an invitation to experience complexity not just as an external condition to understand, but as a living force within—one that calls for presence, compassion, and integration.
