Join UGA Extension Master Gardeners in Floyd County for Open Garden Days at The Major Ridge Demonstration Garden at Chieftains Museum.
Visit our gardens to learn about wide variety of plants and crops that were grown on Major Ridge’s plantation. The demonstration garden brings to life the living history of Major Ridge’s large agriculture operation, which included food gardens, vast crop land, acres of orchards, and medicinal gardens.

In addition to the garden tour the Floyd County Master Gardener are offering a hypertufa container making workshop in the gardens. Starting at 10 am. The cost of the workshop is $10. You must registration and pay for the workshop no later than noon Friday, May 31 by calling 706-295-6210.
