Gender, the Body, and Fieldwork Across Disciplines Symposium
This transdisciplinary symposium will bring together graduate students from across UGA’s campus to share how gender and/or sexuality influence both how they conduct and experience fieldwork. Acknowledging that each person’s gender intersects with other aspects of identity including sexuality, race, class, and able-bodiedness, the symposium explores how these aspects of identity shape our experiences in different ways. The event will include interdisciplinary collaborations, interactive workshops, a plenary talk by Dr. Nessette Falu, storytelling approaches, and creative expressions that work to reimagine how knowledge and experiences are communicated across disciplines.
