Garden Travels: Orchid Diversity and Conservation in Ecuador

UGA alumnus Alex Reynolds is the director of Siempre Verde reserve in the northwest Andes of Ecuador. He will discuss orchid diversity in the Intag region of Ecuador and the role of private reserves for species conservation. Threats to their habitats, such as mining in the region will also be explained.

The main chapel will be open to the public from 6-7 p.m., with live music. Volunteers will be available to answer questions and point out features of the chapel. At 6:30 p.m., the ticketed event begins downstairs with a reception, followed by the talk at 7 p.m. Register online at botgarden.uga.edu or call 706-542-6138.
