The Mary Frances Early College of Education Future Forward Series offers workshops covering a broad spectrum of topics relevant to your academic growth, professional development, and overall future aspirations. Whether you're an aspiring educator, counselor, physical or occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, or leader in the sports industry, we encourage you to take advantage of these workshops to enhance your professional skills. Each workshop will feature distinguished guest speakers from across the state of Georgia who are experts in their respective fields. 

All Future Forward Workshops count for the FYO campus event requirement.

About the speaker: Dr. Barger is an associate professor of educational psychology at UGA and received his PhD in Developmental Psychology from Duke University. His research focuses on the development of children’s motivation to do well in school and how parents and teachers can support adaptive motivational beliefs in their students, particularly about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics subjects.
