This series features three films in which Hitchcock uses color to further the meaning and ideas of his films. Each screening will be introduced by Janice Simon, Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Associate Professor of Art History at the Lamar Dodd School of Art. Notorious cat burglar John Robie (Cary Grant) has long since retired to tend vineyards on the French Riviera. When a series of robberies is committed in his style, Robie must clear his name. Armed with a list of people who own the most expensive jewels in the area, Robie begins following the first owner, young Francie (Grace Kelly). When her jewels are stolen, Francie suspects Robie, destroying their tentative romance. 1955, PG, 107 min.
