Exhibition: Fighting Spirit: Wally Butts and UGA Football, 1939-1950
The story of UGA’s first Rose Bowl victory in 1943 is well known, but what happened when the players left the field and went off to war? The Hargrett Rare Book & Manuscript Library’s new exhibition Fighting Spirit: Wally Butts and UGA Football, 1939-1950 explores the fate of the Georgia Bulldogs in the tumultuous years surrounding World War II. The display showcases photographs, uniforms, programs and other material drawn from the UGA Athletic Association collection. On display August 31, 2018 through May 10, 2019 in the Rotunda Gallery of the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries, this exhibit is open to the public.
Friday, May 10, 2019 at 8:00am to 5:00pm
