About this Event
320 S Jackson Street, Athens, GA 30602
This special grant seekers’ edition of the Felson Faculty Writing Group has been scheduled very early in the fall semester to give a boost to those who intend to apply for the Fulbright, Guggenheim, or ACLS fellowships, while giving the rest of us a chance to start the academic year thinking strategically about grant opportunities ahead.
Join attendees for any activity related to grant writing: search for opportunities and map out strategies; finalize an application for one of the fall deadlines; review a recent, unsuccessful proposal to refine and resubmit in the next cycle; or just collect thoughts and take stock of the research agenda.
In keeping with the regular format of the Felson Faculty Writing Retreats, attendees will have two “check-ins" during the session, the first for goal-setting and the second for troubleshooting. The sessions end with a half-hour “writing sprint.” There will be space for those interested to break out and workshop proposals, as well as space for quiet reflection, planning, and writing.
Come for camaraderie, snacks, and coffee; come for as long or short a period as needed (though forty minutes or more is ideal); come with a grant-related tasks to begin, continue, or accomplish during the time. Contact Elizabeth Wright (wrighte@uga.edu) with any questions.
