 unexpected journey to hosting the 1996 Summer Olympics. Despite being cons
 idered an underdog\, Atlanta triumphed over cities to host the Centennial 
 Games\, which introduced new sports and expanded opportunities for athlete
 s. While the strategic efforts of local leaders\, whose vision and collabo
 ration led to one of the few financially successful Olympics\, the exhibit
  also uses ephemera\, newspapers\, and reports to explore critiques of com
 mercialization and the lasting impact on Georgia.
