Workshop: Fall into Research: What I Wish I Had Known and What I Wish My Students Knew for Graduate School
Emily Pentzer, associate professor of chemistry and materials engineering at Texas A&M, will lead "What I Wish I had Known and What I Wish My Students Knew for Graduate School." Graduate school can be challenging, both professionally and personally, and at times can feel isolating or like the goals and metrics of success are ill-defined, at best. This presentation will cover Pentzer's path to a Ph.D. in chemistry and professorship, her experiences as a mentor, and lessons learned on what worked, and what she wishes she had known ahead of time.
