Join this hands-on writing workshop with writing coach Helen Betya Rubinstein. "Finding Your North Star: A Drafting and Revision Workshop" will support faculty at any stage of developing articles, chapters, and books. In a series of generative sessions that draw on each attendee's values and goals, participants will:

  • Identify a “North Star” for their current project, and learn to use it as a guide for research, drafting, and revision
  • Use dynamic, expansive methods to generate new writing based on primary and secondary sources
  • Practice strategies for “re-vision” in its boldest, most generous sense: revision as seeing all over again, from the scale of the sentence to the macro-structure
  • Reconnect to the pleasure and sense of purpose in their work

Participants should plan to attend the workshop with work-in-progress at any stage of development, but won’t be required to share what they’ve brought. They’ll also have a chance to share questions and requests beforehand.

Please email Willson Center associate director Winnie Smith at wsmith78@uga.edu with any questions, and to register to attend. Registration will be limited to 15 participants, and coffee and lunch will be provided.
