This is an in-person event. Handshake registration is required.

Explore Lab is a small group workshop offered by the UGA Career Center to help first-and second-year students navigate the process of choosing a major. This workshop includes group discussion, reflective questions, and an overview of campus resources to help students create an action plan and move forward in their major choice process. The center hopes participants leave Explore Lab with less anxiety about making the wrong decision and more excitement about exploring their options at UGA.

This workshop is open to first- and second-year students exploring majors at UGA. Undecided third- or fourth-year students should call the Career Center at 706-542-3375 or use Handshake to make an appointment with a Career Consultant.

After attending this workshop, attendees will be able to:

  • Explain common major and career myths
  • Describe their areas of interest and how they connect to majors
  • Utilize online resources to help them navigate the exploration process
  • Create an action plan to move forward with next steps

This workshop is limited to 25 people per session and pre-registration in Handshake is required. Students can attend ONE Explore Lab for Arch Ready credit. Please check in at the Career Center Front Desk upon arrival on the 2nd floor of Clark Howell Hall.

Recommended dress for this event: Casual
