About this Event
140 E Green Street, Athens, GA 30602
UGA's Earth Gay is a student-led collaboration to highlight the intersectionality between queer advocacy and environmentalism, and uplift members of the queer community who are engaging in sustainability. Many LGBTQ+ people grew up hearing they are “unnatural” or even “crimes against nature,” and those that have internalized this might not feel welcome in the environmental movement. At Earth Gay, we proclaim that not only are we natural, we are forces of nature! Earth Gay provides powerful examples of how we can care for the natural world we are part of.
Earth Gay 2026 will be hosted by the Queer Students in Ecology in the Odum School of Ecology, and features skillshare workshops, food, and culminates with a variety show.
