Representatives from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals and Gwinnett County will present information about a stream restoration program they are currently piloting. They have been working to develop a Georgia-specific curriculum that would support a state certification program for small streambank stabilization projects carried out by homeowners, landscapers, or volunteer groups. They are visiting to discuss how collaboration with River Basin Center researchers might influence the scope and implementation of such a program in Georgia. The guests include John Butler of the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources and Caroline Smith, director of Stormwater Engineering & Programming for the Georgia Association of Water Professionals.
