About this Event
320 S Jackson Street, Athens, GA 30602
Sounds are an integral part of a person's knowing and being in the world, and yet they are often overlooked or flattened into textual representations in traditional research. Sonic inquiry is an interdisciplinary method of research that takes up skills and traditions from geography, anthropology, ethnography, and the arts. This presentation offers an overview of audio and sonic methods as well as examples from research projects that incorporate sound as analysis and representation.
Presented by Dr. Maureen Flint, assistant professor in the Qualitative Research Program, UGA Department of Lifelong Education, Administration, and Policy.
