Everyone can make a difference. Volunteer through Dawg Day of Service to support local nonprofits. No matter the passion, there’s a site to volunteer at. Sign up today.

This event is planned by Serve UGA. Please sign up using the RSVP form. RSVPs close on March 10 at 5 p.m. Even if the website allows sign ups after this time, those wanting to volunteer are not guaranteed a spot but will be able to get on the in-person waitlist the morning of March 16.

What does Dawg Day of Service entail?

Dawg Day of Service is UGA’s biggest annual service event. Site leaders, typically members of Serve UGA, are going to serve as guides the week before the event and on the day itself. Volunteers will receive information about their site the week before to learn about their site, their site leaders, and their fellow team.

The morning of Dawg Day of Service, volunteers should park at or travel to Tate Student Center. They will check in at Tate Grand Hall on the 5th floor, sign waivers, grab breakfast and a T-shirt while supplies last. The group will watch a short presentation explaining the sites for Dawg Day of Service. Then, registrants will be volunteering for approximately 3 hours with nonprofits in the Athens-Clarke County area.

Many of these nonprofits function primarily or completely on volunteers sharing their time and labor. Volunteer work may include cleaning, preparing food, painting, outdoor maintenance, gardening, or sorting supplies and materials. All of the work during Dawg Day of Service directly supports the mission of each nonprofit and people in this community.
