Continuing Education: Trans 2020 - Gender Dysphoria

"Trans 202: Gender Dysphoria: An overview of comorbidity and clinical interventions," is a training for social workers and health professionals who work with transgender and non-binary clients. Attendees will earn 5.0 Core Continuing Education Hours.  Presenter Katie Leikam, LCSW, LISW-CP, BC-TMH, will help attendees gain a better understanding of gender dysphoria diagnosis with children, adolescents and adults; the continuum of gender identity; co-occurring disorders, including bipolar disorder, GAD, depression, substance abuse and eating disorders; the difference between gender dysphoria and body dysphoria and how they can be related; three clinical modalities and how to implement them using treatment such as solution-focused therapy, mindful self-compassion and cognitive behavioral therapy.
