About this Event
The UGA Chapel HVAC Replacement project currently in progress requires a new and more robust electrical service to reliably and efficiently serve the new equipment. Thankfully, FMD was able to install approximately half of the underground ductbank over the summer along with the larger chilled water and heating hot water utility infrastructure project along Herty Drive. However, we must now install the other half of the electrical ductbank from the handhole to the transformer. The work requires sidewalk removal to facilitate a hydro-vac exploratory operation which will then proceed directly into construction with a targeted completion by mid-November. Work will commence on Monday October 3, 2022 and is anticipated to conclude by Monday November 14, 2022.
The area of disturbance is illustrated in the attached diagram. The impacted area will be fenced and accessible to authorized personnel only. Signage will be provided to route pedestrians safely around the area and unrestricted access will be maintained to all buildings.
Thank you for your continued patience, assistance, and understanding as we work to provide reliable and resilient infrastructure to support the mission of UGA.
Please don’t hesitate to contact Chris Daigle, FMD Project Manager (ckdaigle@uga.edu ) with any questions or concerns.
