 , Associate Professor\n\nAbout Boce Zhang: Dr. Boce Zhang is an Assistant 
 Professor of food microbiology\, at the University of Florida’s Institut
 e of Food and Agricultural Sciences\, Food Science and Human Nutrition Dep
 artment. Dr. Zhang received his B.S. in Chemistry from Tsinghua University
  in 2008 and a Ph.D. in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of 
 Maryland in 2012. Before joining UF\, he was an ORISE fellow at the USDA a
 nd then an Assistant Professor of biomedical and nutritional sciences at t
 he University of Massachusetts\, Lowell.\n\nDr. Zhang's research interests
  focus on food safety and food microbiology. His research integrates multi
 -omics\, machine learning\, nanotechnology\, and biointerface science to s
 tudy the mechanisms of pathogen persistence. His lab also harnesses interd
 isciplinary platforms to develop new surveillance toolkits and interventio
 n strategies to mitigate microbial food safety risks.
